It was mostly Dutchman and German hunters who came to Norway to catch Falcons.

The permission to do falconry was given by the King in Copenhagen. The cached Falcons was brought to Central Europe for taming, training and sold to Princes and Kings for large amounts. (one Falcon could be priced for the value of 100 cows)

The Falcons was used for hunting on other birds. To hunt with Falcons has been a popular sport in tousands of years for the high-born and the rich people.

In the Middle Ages many  Norwegian Kings loved to go hunting with the Falcons. The Norwegian Kings at that time gave the Falcons in presents to Arabic Princes in Babylon and Tunis.

You must take the walk up to the Falcon Trap and experience the excitement. But remember:   Today all birds of prey are protected by law.

The signposted footpath to the restored falcon traps is easy to find.
